Welcome to the 33 CER Foundation

A registered Canadian charity serving the 33 Combat Engineer Regiment and the regimental family since our establishment in Kanata, Ontario.

The 33 CER Foundation exists to support the men and women of the 33 Combat Engineer Regiment—past, present, and future. We preserve the rich military heritage dating back to 1902, educate the public about the vital contributions of Canada's Sappers, and provide direct assistance to members of our extended regimental family.

Through our programs in public education, memorial ceremonies, financial assistance, and heritage preservation, we ensure that the sacrifices and achievements of our Sappers are never forgotten.

Operation Husky: 80th Anniversary

In July 2023, the Foundation supported members of the regimental family in participating in the historic 80th Anniversary ceremonies of Operation Husky in Sicily, Italy.

During Operation Husky in 1943, Canadian Sappers played a crucial role in the Allied invasion of Sicily. At Leonforte, the Royal Canadian Engineers built the first Bailey Bridge under enemy fire—a remarkable feat of courage and engineering that helped turn the tide of battle.

Twenty-four Canadian Sappers made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Husky. Through our memorial program, we ensure their heroism is remembered and honored at the very places where they served.
